This picture reminds me of The Great Gatsby. Life, Death, Love, Hate, Pleasure, Pain are themes through out Gatsby's life in which he continuously follows in a circle and never gets out of the cycle. He spends his life chasing the love of his life, Daisy, and the pleasure he desires. But along with it comes the pain with never being with his one true love and eventually leads to his death. He hates Tom for stealing Daisy away and how he has a secrete lover, Myrtle. All of these themes are experienced by the American character.
Life is what we make of it. Every American character choses their own path in life and has their own goals to chase.
Death is the inevitable. Gatsby life is taken from him by the choices he made.
Love is what we search for. Through out this whole book we find Gatsby chasing his one true love the one thing in life that will make him happy. Love makes him do crazy things makes him tells lies to tell to protect Daisy.
Hate is followed by love. Gatsby hates Tom and hates the fact that he has Daisy. He worked his whole live fulfilling his dreams of become wealthy but hates the fact that Daisy will never be his.
Pleasure is the wealth Gatsby had made. When he was younger he despised poverty and long to be wealthy. He wanted a big mansion and to have luxurious items. Although he achieves these things by doing illegal acts the fact that he created this wealthy man brings pleasure to him.
Pain is the underlying issue of Gatsby. His wealth gives him pleasure but does not take away all of the pain. Towards the end of the novel we discover that Gatsby is truly an innocent man who has lived his life in pain and will do anything to end it.
